Using
Codemasters F1 2011 game recently published, we will be holding an
e-championship.
The season is 19 races long and will take almost 5 months to complete
if we do 1 per week. The timing may change as the season progresses but
will be notified on the Game Veteran forums. The timings for the first
event is 7pm on 10/12/11 to race Australia.
Points will be awarded as per the F1 2011 rules with an exception made
for non-finishes as follows.
1st place – 25 points
2nd place – 18 points
3rd place – 15 points
4th place – 12 points
5th place – 10 points
6th place – 8 points
7th place – 6 points
8th place – 4 points
9th place – 2 points
10th place – 1 point
DNS / DNF / DSQ = 0 points regardless of relative position at the end
of the race
The forums will be updated with the race results and the main F1 season
thread will have the results added to them as they are completed.
F1 2011 is limited on the amount of players that can race on any
particular session. This means that we must have a mechanism of
ensuring that only 16 players can race. Therefore everyone wishing to
play is to be in TeamSpeak by 6:55pm on a first come first served
basis. The session will be set to invite only to ensure it remains
private and then invites sent to all competitors of that race. Once the
first lap time is set in Qualifying, that session is then deemed live
and cannot be restarted. As per the paragraph above, timings may change
so check the game veteran forums regularly.
As the season is so long, there must account for players inability to
play certain rounds of the championship. Therefore every competitor of
the Game Veteran F1 2011 e-championship will have their 6 worst races
wiped from the final scoring. This allows 6 absences or for those who
turn up to every race, the opportunity to remove 6 poor race results
from their points total.
All assists and setup modifications are allowed. As there is no method
of locking down individual setups, it is advised that participants take
the time to check and adjust quick or custom setups before the race
night. There is no quick way back to the pits in the Qualification
period so setup tweaking will be minimal.
The session settings are to be set as follows.

The grid is to have a minimum of 12 cars consisting of either
competitors only or a mix of competitors and amature AI cars. The
results will be taken on the end result of the race incorporating any
penalties received throughout the race. The points from this will be
entered into the championship thread and places updated accordingly.
The reasononing behind adding the AI is to ensure that if a low player
turn out should happen, points still have to be fought for!
As per the back end of the Game Veteran 2010 F1 championship, the cars
to be used are allocated on a race by race basis. The first race is to
be the only one with all cars fair and equal and from there on in, will
be split. The top 3 will have the Lotus, HRT and Virgin cars which
feature no KERS. Everyone will be allocated a car up until there are
more than 12 players. If this happens, the bottom players will get the
better cars so player 12 and 13 in the championship will be using Red
Bulls, etc, etc. This should make it more interesting as the season
progresses.
The 1st race - Australia, will take place at 7pm on the 10th December.
LETS GET IT ON.....
